Notebook Icon Design – Photoshop Tutorial

Notebook Design.

Step 1:

Let’s start out by creating a new file. I used a 300×200 pixels canvas set at 72dpi, and I filled my background with #252525 color shade. Now in a new layer set and name it ‘Notebook’. Then in a new layer draw a brown rounded rectangle with #954C21 color shade and 75 x 79 px dimensions.

Step 2:

Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Dro Shadow, Inner Shadow, Inner Glow and Gradient Overlay blending options to your brown rounded rectangle layer.

Step 3:

In a new layer draw a very small rectangle with #E4E4E4 color shade and 8 x 3 px dimensions.

Step 4:

Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Drop Shadow, Inner Shadow, Gradient Overlay and Stroke blending options to the very small gray rectangle layer.

Step 5:

Duplicate the small rectangle design and create the pattern design shown below.

Step 6:

In a new layer draw a rounded rectangle with #E6BC95 color shade and 51 x 21 px dimensions. Then draw three 1 px lines with #BB9979 color shade on the rounded rectangle.

Step 7:

Select the Horizontal Type Tool then set the font family to Brush Script MT, italic, 7 pt, smooth and #393939 color shade. In a new text layer type your texts on the lines.

Step 8:

Select the Custom Shape Tool and choose the paw print shape. In a new layer make a white paw print shape on the notebook.

Step 9:

Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Inner Glow blending option to the white paw print layer. Then set the layer’s blending mode to Darken.
