Creating A Wet Surface This tutorial will show you how to create a wet surface.
Step 1:
Lets first take this quaint road background.
Step 2:
Now lets duplicate our background layer as shown below.
Step 3:
On our new layer lets change the layer from Normal to Soft Light.
Step 4:
With your new layer we will need to move it so it appears on the road to give a reflection type look. Choose Edit/Free Transform and move it so it looks like a reflection on the road.
Step 5:
Now we will add a layer mask to the new layer. Choose Layer/Add Layer Mask/Reveal All. Then add the cloud filter to the mask. Filter/Render/Clouds.
Step 6:
Now use the eraser tool and erase the excess parts around the road.
Step 7:
Select the new layer and unlink it as shown below.
Step 8:
Now apply an Ocean Ripple to the new layer. Filter/Distort/Ocean Ripple. Make sure the ripple is set to the default values.
Step 9:
Now apply a Motion Blue. Filter/Blur/Motion Blur. Make sure your values are set to what I have below.
Step 10:
Now relink the mask and change the layer to Overlay and then set the opacity to whatever you like. Make sure you play with the opacity to give it a more realistic look.
Step 11:
Your final product should be something like this! Enjoy!
